Learn more information about the Golden Delicious Apple (Malus 'Golden Delicious'), including a couple helpful recipes!

Information on Golden Delicious Apples

The golden delicious apple was first introduced by The Stark Bros. Nursery in 1914. It is a parent apple to gala’s, pink ladies, Jonagold and more, however, it has no relation to the red delicious apple despite its name. Golden delicious apples are a pale green to yellow colour and have a white flesh. The flavour is crisp and has a nicely balanced sweet-tart flavour. An interesting fact, if you grow this tree in colder climates the sweetness level actually goes up! It is good to eat raw, and due to the firmness, it is a favourite for pies, salads, apple sauce and apple butter.
